Fruit Salad and the Harmon's Produce Guy

On March 11th, we started off early to Harmon's to talk to the cheese monger only to find that he doesn't come on shift until 11 am, so we drifted into produce and chatted with the produce manager.  He taught us how to choose fruit and talked to us about seasonal produce.  He gave us tastes of star fruit and cara cara oranges, then helped us select a pineapple.
Back at the ranch we began cutting
and pouring
zesting and squeezing
and chopping and mixing.

We made our salad from strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, asian pears, cara cara oranges and starfruit and then dressed it with fresh lime and lemon juice with zest, honey, and chopped mint.

Amanda V. wrote of the experience:

"The day that we made the fresh fruit salad was splendid to me.  I liked all the sweetnesses of the different kinds of fruit.  I also like d the fact ath we put lime and lemon juice and zest and mint in it to make it taste scrumptious.  I liked the smells of the fresh fruit as well as the taste.  I'm glad that we could all share the salad."
