My Favorite Day Part One

My favorite day of intensive cooking class so far has been Friday, because of two things.   Number One is this:  the appearance of guest chef Matthew Ellsworth, esteemed chemistry and hip-hop teacher at Walden who wandered into the kitchen, off duty while his students were on a field trip, and offered a hand.  In case you can't tell, Matt is ultra hip.  He's smart, speaks French, knows his chemistry, and, best of all, has mad skills in the kitchen.  There might be several people at the school who harbor secret crushes on him.  In case you can't tell, he gets the occasional modeling gig as well.

Matt:  Science Teacher and Renaissance Man

The second thing is featured in the picture above, and that thing is vegetables. I have a huge, not-so-secret crush on vegetables.  Check out that mise-en-place!

Almost every student in class has told me one of their favorite things about our class has been chopping, and they've chopped like mad for six days now.  Out of the ingredients above, we made three dishes and three sauces.

Stay posted to find out what we made.
